Diablo 3 Announcement at WWI

Posted 25th Jun 2008 04:56 PM by Rushster

With this week’s speculation over the Blizzard teasers, more and more reports in the media, and numerous tips coming direct us at IncGamers from reliable inside industry sources in the past 24 hours, we now have confirmation from inside sources to say that Diablo 3 WILL be announced on Saturday at WWI Paris 2008.

With that in mind, we would like to invite Diabloii.net readers to submit their questions for us to ask Blizzard.

This is extremely exciting for all of us here at Diabloii.net. For the past 10 years we have been supporting the Diablo community and to have something completely new to sink our teeth into is fantastic. We will be at the show on Saturday for the announcement and also the press conference which is directly after, so expect reports from the show floor live, interviews and much more.

All I know is that if Diablo III isn’t announced.. the reputation of this fansite is ruined.

Blizzard hasn’t promised us anything other than a new game…  Diabloii.net promises us Diablo III. raspberry If you guys are wrong I’m going to be more pissed at you for bringing our hopes so high!!

Well, I still love how the 5th rune makes a nice little PENTAGRAM….

"BY THE WAY…Diablo 2 was released June 29th, 2000, Diablo: LoD, June 29th, 2001, now, that’s EIGHT years since the first, and SEVEN years since the expansion."

Who knows..

No matter how you draw the lines, it does not make a pentagram. A pentagram is an upside down star. This star is slightly tilted to the left, but still looks exactly like a star.

While my original assumption was that they were going to announce a new Lost Vikings game, with todays splash screen I have come to this conclusion:

Hello Protoss Island Adventure.

Pentagrams aren’t always necessarily upside down.  They’re a magical symbol either way.  smile

I now have reason to believe that Rushster is on the money.  So I’m planning to do the unthinkable…get up well before the crack of dawn on a Saturday morning, so I can hear the announcement myself.

just becuase the eyes match protoss dosent mean thats it. the helmet and everything dosent. to me it looks like something could be clawing its way out and theres 2 spots for horns. as much as i want it to be diablo 3 and it very well might not be im not giving up till its annoinced. i know i didnt spell that right. and i think if they dont say its diablo 3 we will ever here those words come from them. if diablo was such a big part of them and everything why dont they make another one to continue the series. its been 8 years and i think this could be the last chance to see a d3 though i hope im wrong. it just seems like there more worried about wow and starcraft to be bothered with another diablo.

I’m not especially fluent in the lore, but say Diablo 3 took place some years after the destruction of the worldstone; Azmodan and Belial (two lesser evils) end their civil war long enough to figure a way to revive the three Prime evils.

If that holds true, the splash screen doesn’t HAVE to be Diablo - it could be Baal or even Mephisto who, I might add, has not had a dominant role in the games as of yet, although he is characteristically said to be the most evil of the three.
