Fifth Blizzard Game In the Works Update

Posted 24th Mar 2009 04:02 PM by Medievaldragon

Recently, Blizzard Entertainment added two job openings under the category titled Unannounced. I wrote an article about it a few days ago. Since then IncGamers.Com has learned a little more reagarding the IP the positions will be working on.

The job openings mentioned in this newspost are indeed for a brand-new game that has not been mentioned before.

1. This brand-new game is not a World of Warcraft expansion, and it is not related to the Next-Gen MMO.

2. At present, the brand-new game is using the World of Warcraft engine merely for testing purposes.

3. The Client Software Engineer job opening is for someone to take responsibility for the development of a brand new engine for this game. This new engine will be built depending on the skill and interest of the person hired for this position.

Whether this game is based on the three major franchises (Warcraft, Starcraft or Diablo) or a new IP, remains unknown.

We encourage our readers who have the skills and fill the requirements for this job to step forward and submit a resume and code samples to (JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address).

* A new update might be posted soon. We are expecting a Blizzard PR representative response.

That’s crazy. WoW has given them so much capital to expand its amazing.

Maybe its a new franchise. That would be very interesting. Whatever it is I am excited for sure.

I have a feeling this years Blizzcon will show off more than last years.

There are so many possible things to show off.
-SC 2 Release date.
-New Diablo 3 class and zone
-Next WoW expansion
-Their two unannounced games.

Exciting times for Blizzard fans for sure smile

If it really is a 5th team, then that feels pretty good with a new IP. The whole point is that the other 4 teams can continue to produce to the existing ones wink

I think they might start making a dedicated BlizzCon team, actually. They are reaching a point where they potentially could make it even bigger, and still sell out all tickets in 7 minutes. They would basically earn serious money from having a lot of fun!

That even makes sense in business halls!

Mind you, I am all for that!

Its a new IP. whats funny about this is that someone told me he “pitched” a story to blizzard to see if they would buy it. Who knows if he was full of it or not cause so many people claim they know or heard something about a game or something along those lines…but then this announcement comes out its pretty interested.

@HappyFamine
Thats illegal to pull people from other companies. They have to leave at their own will and not be loured in by Blizzard in anyway what so ever.  Blizz wont do that.

I will be pissed if Blizzard makes a completely new game. Blizzard is already going to take over my spare time with D3 alone, plus if I play SC2 as well. A new game is going to kill me, curse you blizzard for making spectacular games that are amazing and fun to play! CURSE YOU!
