Secret Diablo I Cinematics

Most of you guys played Diablo I in the old days, though you were probably like, 11 at the time. If you played the game it's a safe bet that you enjoyed the cinematics, primitive though they are by today's standards. Did you know there were a number of other cinematics on the CD that were not enabled in the game? The most notable is the Butcher's short and brutal introduction. Chop!

You might also enjoy the Rogue's and Sorcerer's versions of the ending cinematic; they're identical to the Warrior-starring verison, except for the sight and sound of the character screaming after plunging in the soulstone. (Skip to about 0:55 for the money shot.) The rogue's horrendous scream and bulging, crazy eyes is the highlight of this viewing experience.

The unused video is just a curiosity though, compared to the vast troves of unused audio. If you played Diablo, and especially if you still do, this ten-minute movie is a must view (listen). It compiles dozens of unused remarks, voice prompts, quest dialogues, and more, all spoken by the NPC and character voices we've come to know so well.

Anyone know if there is a tool or something to extract these extras from the cd itself ? My net connection is ancient, courtesy of the Australian Government and its incredibly lack-lustre development of net infrastructure..

MPQ extractor? Should be plenty of stuff available on google, and all these apps are like 52kb =P Not really, ofc, but usually very slim and good. Bit outdated on UI compared to today's stuff, but otherwise fine.

TBH, I also like the different endings, but I guess the story line was the Warrior took the stone in the end.

BTW, you realize the male voice in the link is the Sorcerer?

I could be crazy, but I'm pretty sure that when you played D1 you got the ending associated with your character. I certainly have seen all the endings before, at any rate.

My God, the Sorceror's voice is incredible. He managed to bring drama to nearly everything he said.

@Senatus
You arent crazy
In D1 you got the apropriate ending depending on your char.

I really like the butcher movie, too bad it didnt make it in the final version along with loads of other stuff.

Say, if you just loop the rogue's lines from about 8:18 -> 8:25, kinda sounds like the VA is enjoying herself a little *too* much. Very sexy.
