Preview and Review

Posted 27th Aug 2008 12:40 AM by Flux

Game Daily has posted a quick preview of Diablo III. There’s nothing new for anyone who’s been following the game thus far, though.

Also, if you’re interested in another game that most of the reviewers lump into the Diablo III-wanna be category, check out Too Human for the Xbox 360.

The Olympian:

The character-building options are just deep enough, and while the game doles out rare items far too generously, the compulsion to uncover slightly better loot remains. If you understand that compulsion at all - or simply cannot for “Diablo III’s” arrival - “Human” is unquestionably worth at least a rental, if not more.

NZGamer.com.

It’s easily the best action RPG on the 360 and arguably the best on any of the modern consoles. If you’re looking for something to tide you over until Diablo III gets here, you could do a lot worse.

I don’t know how they can really compare too human with Diablo. I tried the demo on the 360 and it was massively dissappointing. It was so bad I could barely finish the demo.

Too Human is a lot of fun, once you get a handle on the controls and the depth of the skills and charms systems.
The people who have been disappointed simply didn’t put enough effort into understanding the intricacies.

There’s a lot there to like but the hurdle to understanding is set a little too high and so I expect a lot of people are going to give up, which is a shame.

Why did Flux link reviewers like those?  I’ve never heard of those two reviewers. o.o

But yah, Too Human is good but too rough around the edges design wise.  It kinda reminds me of Hellgate.

I’m not about to force myself to try to like a game. I just didn’t think it was fun after an hour, and that’s my cut-off limit. If they designed a better game that was actually entertaining, my story would have been different.
